The Executive Office of Economic Development’s goal is to create an environment within Worcester conducive to both business and residential growth and progress. The Worcester Business Development Corporation (WBDC) was founded in 1965 by a large group of public-minded citizens. The mission of this organization was to collaborate with community officials in the Greater Worcester area to create a comprehensive approach to the economic challenges that face a community. In the spirit of civic responsibility, the WBDC was established to serve as an innovative and leading force in the economic development of the City of Worcester and the region, expanding the tax base through the creation and promotion of employment opportunities, while assisting in the development and growth of business and industry.
The Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce is the largest Chamber in New England representing 2,100 members from all industries and of all sizes located in our service area of 35 cities and towns and other communities in Central Mass. and beyond. As a member-driven organization, the Chamber works on behalf of businesses to create valuable programs and events that help to grow their networks, advocate for favorable, business-friendly public policy, work with our partners to assist with economic development efforts that create more opportunities and jobs, and support individual members on a variety of issues.
